Ngong Hills

I'm tired. It was a fun but long weekend. Friday night I found myself at a bar where a Kenyan conga line broke out around midnight. Of course, we whites ran to join it, but it proved to be the fanciest conga line I've ever participated in, and I may have stepped on some toes.

I went to an art festival on Saturday that was hosted by the Ngesha Art Assocation. It is a group of artists that have their gallery/studios in the village of Ngesha, 30 minutes outside of Nairobi. It was amazing! Not only are the artists incredible (I was able to meet the artist whose painting I bought), but they also do workshops for IDPs in their community. The festival included lots of music, dancing and even acrobats! Pics later......

My apartment hosted a group potluck tonight and the food combination was great!

Earlier today, a group of us went hiking outside Nairobi in the Ngong Hills. It was steep pretty much all the way! Here are some group pics at the top. For some reason, jumping photos have become popular, so here is yet another one. I must say, I take the gold medal for jumping in this photo! Also note our ranger escorts, complete with hefty guns.
