Cali Spring Break

For spring break, I went with my mom and brother to visit family in Central CA. It was a good time spending time with fun and adorable cousins (some of them both fun AND adorable!) My Abuelita fed us till I wanted to pop with goodness. We mostly hung around "the house" but did go out for an afternoon of wine tasting. Even the little brother and cousin can taste the wine along with the grownups now. :)

It was all too short and I can't believe yet another quarter has already started. I did manage to get some spring cleaning done before school started up again! I even did some baking. Actually, the baking bug hit me tonight too and I have some chocolate chip cupcakes in the oven--simply because I had frosting and chocolate chips! My last round of baking proved pretty handy too. I tried mowing the lawn and wasn't having much fun. Unfortunately, too many neighbors may have heard me cussing out the lawnmower after the 4th time it turned off on me. That sucker is hard to turn on! A neighbor happened to be walking by (whom I didn't know) and offered to help. I couldn't pay him but gave him lots of baked goodies after. He seemed to think it was a good deal in the end! And while I like to think that I can do everything by myself, I think he did mow the lawn in a third of the time it would have taken me.

And in an odd way, I felt so much better beginning the school quarter with a clean room and mowed lawn. :)

Man, I have to say an electric mower is the way to go. That's what we have and it's awesome. Easy to turn on, no gas fumes, and the battery plugs in so no cord to tow around while mowing. But paying people with baked goods works too. :)
