The Kenya Human Rights Commission (where I am interning) is currently involved in a historical case, occurring in London. The Mau Mau fighters were Kenyans that opposed the British colonial rule and were cruelly detained and abused by British officials back in the 1950's and early 1960's before Kenyan independence in 1963.
The Commission filed a class action suit against the British government, in London, asking for reparations for living Mau Mau fighters who suffered abuse at the hands of the colonial government. The Commission took 17 Mau Maus (most very elderly!) to London a few weeks ago in a very public move to file the suit.
An office email just went around asking for support. Please click HERE to learn more and add your support to this historic case. I did!
