I'm Still Standing

I did it! I survived my first quarter of grad school! I have no idea what my grades are and I don't even care. Deep down I know I passed all my classes and that is all that matters to me at this point.

Things to note:

I never ever thought I would take a graduate level economics course. And I just did! Never say never I suppose.

I am truly amazed at how fortunate I am with my job(s) flexibility. I love working with my refugee kiddos. I took them to see Zoo Lights this week and they loved it. I'm back at the law firm where I used to work, now working part time. They allow me to adjust my work schedule to my school schedule and are even letting me take vacation for most of December. When next quarter starts up, I will be adding a third job--nannying for my darling little nanny girl that I have in the past. I can't do it at the level I have before, but I committed to two evenings this time around and since she goes to bed early, I will be making money while doing homework! That is the dream school job. Plus, I just get to spend time with her. And the most amazing part is that with all these jobs, I didn't have to seek them out (at least this time around). They all pretty much fell in my lap!

I'm off to Mexico tomorrow--Yucatan peninsula for two weeks. I can't wait to spend time with my entire family. And if that wasn't awesome enough, two of my bestest girlfriends are coming too!

Will be back in Tacoma for Christmas itself but now unexpectedly will be spending New Years at Disneyworld. True story.

I'm not making the mistake I did before the start of last quarter though and am giving myself a few days at home before school starts again. There is just something nice about recovering from a trip, resting, and doing laundry. :)

Time for fun and rejuvenation.
