Back in Seattle

I have been to Africa and back, Denver and back, moved and started grad school--all in the last week. Now it is time for my body to adjust to which time zone it is in!

I am currently sleeping on the sofa for at least the next week if not more. But in the end it will be worth it as my big girl mattress is on its way to me! Before I left the country I found a great old bedroom set on Craigs list. I decided at my age and height, I definitely deserved graduating to a full size bed.

My friend let me sleep on his bed a while back and I was introduced to the marvels of Nova-foam. More like magic foam! I knew that when I did get a mattress, I would opt for foam.

Unfortunately Costco didn't have any in stock anywhere around so it is being shipped while I sleep on the sofa. And oddly enough, my box spring is at another friend's house. Long story that isn't interesting enough to tell, but boy do I have some great and helpful friends!

I feel like this is a big step for me though. I have been sleeping on the same bed and mattress that I have had since I was 10 yrs old. I didn't fit in the bed, it was a dumbed down canopy bed and the mattress had some old pee stains from a beloved pet of many years past. (Really humiliating during my many moves to have my friends help me move a mattress with icky stains. I felt like I needed a disclaimer!)

Moving to a bigger and better bed/mattress is like a transition and further step into claiming full-fledged adulthood. In my mind anyway. :)
